The Teesdale Mercury reported on the community efforts to preserve the hedgerow that is being used this year as a roost for a group of starlings.
Helen expresses her concerns at the plans to destroy the site as part of a building project. Durham County Council are in contact with the developer and hope to explore reasonable options to protect the site over winter.
Starlings make use of different roost sites each year.
