Helen Goodman
Darren Hughes, Chief Executive of the Electoral Reform Society has written a column for politics.co.uk which explains Helen Goodman and Ken Clarke’s proposal for building Brexit consensus in Parliament.
Helen has argued that the current system in parliament makes it difficult to build consensus across parties, especially in situations where there are lots of competing options. Helen has proposed a system of preferential votes, where MPs rank their preferred Brexit options. If used, this system should result in a Parliamentary majority, and break the current Brexit deadlock.
