The Teesdale Mecury reported on the large amount of public support for a petition against the loss of the out-of-hours service at the Richardson Hospital. On Saturday 24th June, Helen joined campaigners to speak to Barnard Castle residents and gather signatures.
Helen expressed her ‘extreme concern’ in relation to the Clinical Commissioning Group scrapping this much-needed service. She has also written a letter to the Adult Health and Wellbeing overview and scrutiny committee opposing the service loss, and is in correspondence with the CCG to ensure that patients in remote and rural areas are not disadvantaged by this change.
