This morning I secured the support of the Conservative Leader of the House of Commons who was concerned to hear about Stephen’s case and agreed to lobby the Home Office on our behalf.

Stephen, a young man from Shildon was trafficked to the UK as a child and forced to work in a cannabis factory, but the Home Office wants to send him back to Vietnam.

I also requested a debate on the interaction between the protection of victims of modern slavery, and the asylum and immigration system.
