Helen is part of the Shadow Foreign Affairs Team, and often asks questions in Parliament directed at Government Ministers from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

The issues that Helen focuses on in this role are very varied, ranging from human rights abuses, refugee crises, tackling offshore tax havens, and protecting the Antarctic.

Today, Helen asked the Second Church Estates Commissioner what support the Church of England is offering to the Christian community in Sri Lanka in response to the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

Helen highlighted that everybody is entitled to freedom of religion and belief, and asked that “the message we should send out from this House is that no faith sanctions conflict against another.”
