What to Bring and What to Expect
During a surgery, you will meet with Helen and her caseworker to discuss your problem or concern. If you have any paperwork that would be useful to see, please bring this along. If your query is about tax, benefits, pensions, or universal credit, it can also be helpful to bring your National Insurance number. If your issue relates to immigration, you’ll need your Home Office number.
Helen will advise you on any actions that she will take. Please be aware that it can take 28 days for an MP to receive a response from a council or government body, and longer still to get a response from a Government Minister. You will also receive a letter, email or phone call to confirm when those actions have been taken.
